The resort first contacted Travelanium in late 2009 and it took about a month to evaluate what was going on and how much potential we could guarantee by being under Travelanium’s roof. After the SWOT presentation ended, Sukantara – Eco Luxury Hotel Chiang Mai had agreed to use our “Leave it to us” solution as we promised the resort to hit target sales revenue within 6 months via its hotel website.

By achieving a common objective, initially the resort does require a brand new all-in-one website. Just to revamp the existing site already costs us to invest around THB 0.2 million plus huge expenses for multi-language translating and strategically setting up a full version of hotel eMarketing campaigns. Within months our hotel internet marketing effort was paying off richly, Sukantara.com has generated more bookings than we expected which we gave a credit to SEO, eMail marketing, web design and photo shooting teams. And the owner, of course, came up with ton of interesting packages – right for various target groups of customer and gave us green light of most of suggesting marketing activities.

And even it was a tough year 2010 for tourism industry (redshirt plus global economic recession) the resort’s annual online direct sales has dramatically increased and shown us of over 50% of occupancy came from direct bookings.
